After having messed about for a long time getting OSX to run on this board i thought people might care if i shared this with the community. For this install I am using the Kalyway DVD.
My Rig: Abit IP35-E Intel Q6600 2,4GHz (clocked at 3.6) 2GB DDR2 Dual Channel RAM GeForce 6800 256MB 2x 160GB SATA Harddisks SATA DVD-ROM IDE DVD-RW First, boot the dvd ( you need a SATA dvd player for this!! IDE WILL NOT WORK! ) When the DVD bootloader pops up, hit F8 and type 'vanilla -v' followed by an enter.
This will cause the installer to use the vanilla kernel and show what its doing. It just hung a few times when i tried it. Connecting the Harddisks to SATA connector 5 and 6 Helped.
Second, Select your language click utilities - disk utility fomat your disk with 1 (or more) partitions. Be sure to format them as MBR, GUID didnt work for me.
Also, the bootloader failed to install correctly when i put spaces in the volume name. Third, tell it to install on your fresh partition and click custom. Install the Vanilla kernel (both packages) and the MBR EFI v8 bootloader. Fourth, Click install and pray if all goes well it will reboot and boot into your bootloader. Select OSX Leopard and boot! Fifth, Set up all your stuff.
For me my PS/2 keyboard didnt work. I bought a cheap Logitech USB keyboard for 10 euro's and all was fine. Sixth, You will probably (hopefully) find that most stuff already works except Audio (and in my case my GeForce 6800 - the natit drivers on the Kalyway DVD worked fine) To get audio to woked I used the driver from this post (also see attatchments): Be sure to set the permissions right after installing the kext or OSX will complain about it being incorrectly insalled.
Chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions rm /System/Library/Extensions.mkext and run the diskutility - repair permissions, just to be sure That should fix sound. All this went very smooth for me. Ofcourse if you have any questions, feel free to PM me and i will try to help. I have this exact same motherboard, but I'm using a Core 2 Duo E6700 CPU and an XFX nVidia GeForce 8600GT 256MB Video Card. I'm installing using the newest Kalyway DVD. I'm selecting the desktop nvidia drivers during the install also.

It finished installing MacOSX, but as soon as it was done it went to a black screen and says the following:: servershutdown bootstrapregister: Service name already exists localhost configd41: server shutdown complete (227775) syncing disks. Killing all processes continuing done MACH Reboot Then it just sits there. So I press the reset button on the front of the computer and let it boot from the hard drive.
When the apple screen comes up with the turning lines (bootloader is what it's called i guess?), the screen flashes once and it freezes on the bootloader screen. I partitioned 1 of my 500GB HDDs with 2 partitions (MacOSX and Windows are the names I gave them). What am I doing wrong? Here's what I've got: Abit IP35-E Intel E6700 Core 2 Duo 2GB Dual Channel RAM XFX nVidia GeForce 8600GT 256MB PCI-E 2x 500GB SATA Harddisks 2x SATA DVD-RW.
