Ya yeet b, DELETED ALL MY VIDEOS okay so u know how when you edit something on imovie, your video is stored/saved on the app. WELL, one day while editing a video, a window popped up telling me that iMovie can no longer continuing storing my videos.
The only option for me to click was ‘ok’, so after i clicked ok, EVERYTHING was deleted. As if I just downloaded the app. NOTHING was there anymore.
I had so many videos that I worked so hard to edit. Poof, ALL GONE. There was no way I could retrieve them. Maybe iMovie, instead of just having the app store my videos, allow me to create an account so that all my works are stored there. That way I can access my videos via the iMovie account on the app rather than just my laptop. Also, if you know how to retrieve deleted iMovie videos, please let me know ASAP because there are a lot of videos that I edited and didn’t export, since exporting takes a LONG time. Overall, if youre considering downloading this app, DO IT.

This app is free, there will be A LOT of ‘not-so-pleasant’ times when using it, but i gaurantee you, if you know how to edit and use this app well (its easy to work through), it’ll be woooorth it. BUT IM STILL UPSET ABOUT MY VIDEOS.

I WANT THEM BACK. Sschool, Useless for videos of any real length.
As soon as I begin to create videos of any real length over a minute or two, iMovie chokes completely. I recorded about an hour of 1080p video with my Sony video camera, imported it to my Mac and tried to edit down to about 10 min. I wasted days letting it process my video files which Windows Movie Maker had 0 issues with in the past.
The first thing I noticed is the temp files wiped out about 100gb of space on my drive to store temporary data. When editing for even a minute or so the spinning wheel would begin again. I’d literally fall asleep watching it. My Macbook is mid 2015 model with the video all on an SSD drive and 8GB ram.
I made sure it had plenty of memory and CPU available. After weeks of wasting my time with iMovie, I finally started from scratch on my 2011 Windows PC with non SSD hard drive, using the old Windows Movie Maker software. Within about 2 hours time I had somethng that could be published. My expensive Mac was crushed by my old cheap PC with the free Movie Maker software from Microsoft, in the department Apple use to be known by - Video. My how have times changed. I spoke to customer support, they asked for details of the video files. It was noted.

Midi the Veg, Absolutely awful Apple just refuses to leave well enough alone when it comes to their software. I used to create band promo videos with EASE with the previous version, imported audio & video, synced everything up, edited clips, and came out with a good final product NOW?? They have discontinued some of the features and created an entirely new interface. 3 calls to tech support to try and figure it out only to find out it will no longer do what I need it to do. WHY DISCONTINUE USEFUL FEATURES?? Why make an interface LESS user friendly???
Not only that, when I upgraded from the previous version, I lost a good deal of my existing projects Poof!!! Gone, not recoverable. And one of the imovie ‘specialists’ at tech support actually told me he doesn’t use imovie so doesn’t really know all the features. Apple, I am absolutely furious that, having learned how to use the previous version of iMovie, I now have to search for and purchase a different software program and learn how to use it simply to accomplish the same thing. They’v done it with iTunes also, every time there’s a major update it becomes less user friendly. If I could just break off from Apple completely after this I would, I am that upset.

Also, I am rating other Apple apps that you are not allowed to rate on here. Apple News: Missing stories. I live in Southern Oregon, and I experienced a lot this summer and spring, but the stories are not on there. A horrible thunderstorm causing a flood on May 15, I have never seen anything like it!
But it was not on there? In late June, a car got pulled over by police and had a bunch of boxes on top of it. I got to news to learn more, but it was not on there either??? Also, just 2 days ago, a fire erupted in Medford that was visible from near the mall.
Please add those stories. Overall 4.99/5 Apple itself: 3.5/5 Big ups, but also a few downs. Some apps I really liked. I got to use them.
They said that they needed to be updated by the creator, but I could still use them, I liked it, that is until iOS 10. It was ruined for me! Also, I got a lot of apps from a purchased section, but I CANNOT REVIEW THE, BECAUSE I “DO NOT OWN THEM.” That is the most frustrating thing, at least fix that. I try to review apps to give them suggestions, and point out bugs, but I can’t cause I “do not own them.” Well, I sort of DO own them if I got them from a purchased section. You also need a version chooser option.
I got Baldi’s Basics for iOS, and the WORST UPDATE EVER came out today. They made it so it is not like the original! I want to change the version so I could use it and still be happy.
It makes me disgusted even LOOKING at it. MonsterSackboy9, Great app Love it! Also, I am rating other Apple apps that you are not allowed to rate on here. Apple News: Missing stories.
