Before I became a successful entrepreneur, you would have never predicted my path. I am a public school kid raised in a small town outside of Charlotte NC. I had mediocre grades and a passion for soccer in a town where football and baseball dominated. I was kicked out of my first college and lost my soccer scholarship. My future certainly looked dim and candidly most people would have bet against me making anything of my life. But it was an inflection point for me and I committed to changing my future. A few years later, I graduated from college as a straight “A” student and collegiate All-American.
Fast forward a few more years, still in my twenties, I had already started, built and sold two great companies. Before I was 30 I had already achieved many of his wildest goals and dreams.

Anything truly is possible. Today (several decades, more successes, mistakes, bruises and life experiences later) I am a PASSIONATE advocate and supporter of entrepreneurship. I speak, coach founders and now share my strategies (the playbook that I had to learn the hard way, but led to great outcomes for me) with founders and entrepreneurs all over the world.
Lentz McSherry Lackey, Jr., “Mac”, passed away peacefully in Charlotte at the age of 72 after a long struggle with Alzheimers. He is survived by his wife, Pam, children, Amanda and Jason, granddaughter Grayson and his brothers, Bill and Bob. Born July 16, 1944 in Statesville, he attended Statesville High School, Gordon Military College and graduated from Catawba College. He was a member of Broad St. United Methodist Church. He operated the family business Mac’s T.V. And Electronics and worked for the Iredell County Sheriff’s Dept.
