Select your working resolution and switch between your four input sources. Built into the switcher is a 12-channel audio mixer which can de-embed and embed audio signals from HDMI. Rated 4 out of 5 by Drex from A versatile, small HDMI production switcher. Used this recently with three cameras and a laptop as sources for a live stream. These were three different cameras, one pro, one prosumer, and one consumer video cam. Program throughput through a Ninja Blade recorder/monitor, converted to a USB signal through aEpiphanAV.io.
Preview output into an LCD monitor, showing all four inputs. Took audio from a house mixer through the RCA jacks. Performed well, had enough menu settings to deal with some of the technical and compatibility issues. Surprisingly, the toughest camera to get to work with the system was the pro camera's HDMI output. Eventually found a output format that was compatible. Rated 5 out of 5 by Video Services Texas from Run & Gun tiny mixer First an foremost I think some people will complain about all the things it doesn't do, but at a few dollars under a grand I frankly don't have any complaints. It feels well made and sturdy and perfect for quick setup i tight spaces.
Software Based Video Switcher
I use this to switch corporate talking heads on a two camera shoot and I have two additional inputs for a laptop presentation or a video. One note: it has a small fan that runs when you turn it on but it's very quiet and I haven't picked it up on any of my mics. At this price order a couple. What a bargain! Rated 3 out of 5 by GB from Nice product but fan is way too noisy! I needed this for a webcasting studio setup where I would be mixing video inputs on the fly as I am presenting. As such, the mixer needs to be close to me and therefore within 3 feet of my microphone. So, after paying almost $1,000 for the mixer, imagine my disappointment to hear an unacceptably loud fan coming from the Roland.
Come on guys -for $1,000 for a studio environment piece of equipment where silent equipment is an obvious priority, this is not good enough. That being said, I do like the Rolan's construction, feel and user-friendly operation. I'd consider giving 5 stars if it was not for the fan noise. Rated 5 out of 5 by Matthew E. From Perfection.
Video Switcher Software For Macbook Pro
Literally everything you ever dreamed of for an HD video mixer for under $1,000. Incredibly easy to use, lightweight and portable, full HD quality, extensive audio controls including EQ and reverb, plus boatloads of extra features including picture-in-picture, chroma key for live green screen, and tons of other effects that I haven't even had time to discover yet. This thing is fully loaded. I am a video professional using this mixer for live internet broadcasts. I've been doing regular broadcasts for the past several months shooting on Sony A7S II, A7II, and EX1R cameras and I have had nothing but success with this mixer. I split the output with an HDMI splitter, and send it out to a BlackMagic VIdeo Assist or Atomos Ninja to record to SD card or SSD, while simultaneously sending it to a Teradek VidiU to stream online via Facebook Live or Youtube. It has worked perfectly every time and it's almost unbelievable that something this powerful is under $1,000.
Honestly a dream come true.
